Van Ballentine and his wife Betty have been in Napa Valley their whole lives, with winemaking history spanning generations. One of their vineyards has been in the family since 1906. The history of the family, winery and Napa Valley is intertwined with prohibition and drought. They recently opened a small tasting room on the grounds where visitors can sample their estate wines.
